Project Manager

Location: Coventry

Salary: £25,000 to £45,000

The Project Manager we are seeking will already have extensive experience in controlling a variety of engineering projects delivered to the Automotive and/or Aerospace sectors.

You will be working as part of the multi-disciplined projects team, in conjunction with internal manufacturing and technical staff, who will actively support you in your role. The team work closely together with the aim of delivering solutions to our clients on time and within budget. You will be responsible for bringing all of the elements together from order placement to final equipment acceptance.

This position is office based, but you will be expected to visit customer sites around the UK and internationally as required. You will be working alongside other Project Managers and Project Engineers reporting to your designated Programme Manager.

You must be able to deliver a consistent, high quality, responsive, reliable service to all internal and external customers and develop customer relationships with key accounts by establishing and maintaining regular communication to ensure the business has the best opportunity to continually grow.

Initial Responsibilities

Compiling Contract Files, checking customer data and specifications

Checking budgets and technical information at sales hand over prior to manufacture

Scheduling project programme

Create, issue and maintain timing plans

Liaise and coordinate with design, manufacture and technical departments within Expert

Management and supervising of sub contractors and external service suppliers

Dealing with contract variations

Preparing new quotations

Create budgets and monitor progress

Compiling risk assessments and method statements for site installations

Liaising with the client, internal functions and sub contractors to ensure the smooth running of the project

Ensuring completion of the project to the customer requirements

Compile project buy-off documentation

Compile and present Project Reports

Key Attributes

Good understanding of design

Proven track record for management of projects from concept through to completion

Experience of automation, robotics, Body in White assembly, Trim and Final assembly, special purpose machines, handling systems, gauging

Education Required

Ideally a suitable degree or HND in mechanical/electrical engineering
